*Smaragaid Cliff exceedes our expectations in all areas, including performance. At the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Sport Horse Breeding competitions we've attended, he has been the only Connemara. Cliff competes trot-for-trot against the BIG boys. Our goal for 2007 was to qualify for the Great American Insurance Group/USDF Breeders' Championship Series, which Cliff did twice by being named Champion Stallion at two different shows. We never dreamed he would be named Reserve Grand Champion Stallion for the series final! We are especially excited that in 2007 Cliff earned his In-Hand Gold Medallion from the American Connemara Pony Society. This is a lifetime achievement award; not bad for a four-year-old. Even more amazing is that except for his one Connemara show, Cliff earned all his points at USDF Dressage Sport Horse Breeding shows! After some time off, which helped save us money, Cliff will resume his dressage training with David Bradbury of Equestrian Logic, learning to translate his exceptional free movement in play to his under-saddle performance. We are grateful that God continues to provide and bless us with the wonderful ponies in our lives. Whether we show them or just enjoy them at home, they are exceptional and bring us abundant joy. |
